Donley Sissom M.S.Ac., L. Ac., EAMP, Dipl. Ac.
Donley is a Master Acupuncturist, Holistic Medicine Practitioner, and Nutritional Consultant specializing in the treatment of women’s health, aging gracefully and weight management.
I graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado in 2015 with a Master of Science in Acupuncture, and later pursued post-graduate studies in endocrinology, cosmetic acupuncture as well as holistic weight management.
I grew up in a family of educators. My mother and father are both retired teachers. When I graduated high school, I initially began down a premed route, but quickly became disheartened by the cold and impersonal allopathic approach to health.
After completing undergrad, I was a high school science teacher for a time, but never lost my desire to help others find their optimum wellness. It wasn’t until I began researching how to best help my wife overcome chronic neck pain that I discovered East Asian Medicine. It wasn’t long into my research that I found that it was the powerful mind-body system I had been seeking. In 2011 I enrolled in Southwest Acupuncture College and the rest – as they say – is history.
My mission and purpose is to aid my patients in finding and maintain their fullest health, reach and maintain their optimum weight, and age with dignity.
I see the body as the purest reflection of healing wisdom ever created. My goal is to help every single person I work with to reconnect with their inner healing wisdom to not only live a life with less (or no) pain, but also a life of meaning and joy.
When not helping patients in the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family engaging in outdoor activities. Since my wife and I both grew up in families who grew vegetable gardens & had chickens for farm fresh eggs, we still love to grow as much of our own food as possible. I also enjoy hiking and camping in this beautiful area of the Pacific Northwest we are so fortunate to live in, as well as traditional woodworking and supporting the local performing arts scene. When the weather pushes me indoors, I love to cook from scratch, and I have even been known to pick up knitting needles and make a few things from time to time. And, naturally, I am always reading to deepen my knowledge in the world of East Asian Medicine!
